How was the refund determined?

The UTMB® is an important organization that brings together 10,000 runners from 111 countries. In order for the event to take place, 15 employees work all year round on its staging. Our employees' salaries and the operating expenses are indispensable and essential to organize the event. To date, 45% of the budget has already been committed to prepare the event. The UTMB is a SE which also has to face the economic difficulties caused by the crisis. These expenses ensure the sustainability of the event and a job for the employees. If the UTMB® were to refund 100% of the registration fees, there would certainly be no more UTMB® next year.

CONSEQUENCES ON 2021 ENTRY PROCESS

 Will my qualifying points expire?

The validity of qualifying races is extended by one year. This means that 2018, 2019 and 2020 qualifying races can be used for 2021 entry.

I was not selected in the 2019 and 2020 lottery (I applied both times for the same race). Do I keep the advantage I have acquired?

Runners who were not selected in the 2019 and 2020 lottery (if they have applied both times for the same race) will keep their advantage. However, there are a limited number of entries available for each race which cannot be exceeded. If the number of applications exceeds the places available, an additional lottery will be carried out. In this case, those not selected via the lottery will benefit from a direct entry in 2022.

Who will be able to enter the 2021 MCC?

  • volunteers will be granted priority entry to the 2021 MCC.
