Following the cancellation of the 2020 edition of UTMB® Mont-Blanc due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the UTMB® community has nevertheless decided to meet again this summer. Meeting point is the brand new UTMB® for the Planet platform, a unique sporting and digital venue which brings the community together around a united cause.

This summer, runners will be able to test themselves across four distances based on the legendary races of UTMB® Mont-Blanc and enter several exclusive Challenges which have been supported by partners of UTMB®. All participants are invited to donate the amount of their choice when they register to support WWF France. With 8,600 registrations – 20% of participants are women - and €10,000 donated to WWF France since its launch, the platform is currently being used by runners from almost 100 countries around the world.
The 4 partner Challenges currently available (Overstim's, Val d'Aran by UTMB® and Sidas) – which have been engaging 16% of the community - offer several options, from the most accessible to the most demanding distance. Let’s have a look at the current Challenges:

Sidas Challenge: Complete 30 km and 500 elevation game before August 20th. Prize: a trail running holiday in the Chartreuse Range with Ludovic Pommeret, winner of the UTMB® 2016.
OVERTSIM.s Challenge: You have 7 days to run 40km. Prize: your stay in Chamonix for the MCC 2021.
Val d'Aran by UTMB® Challenge: Run 19 km and 3,000 meters elevation gain - the equivalent of the 3 emblematic climbs of the event - before August 10th. Prize: entry into the race of your choice at Val d'Aran by UTMB® 2021.
Challege Hanroad: starting from this week, Hanroad is joining the partner Challenges with a prize that smells like holidays! Run 70km alone or with friends in a week to try and win a week in a Hanroad van.

4 Virtual Races for everyone:
To encourage as many people as possible to take part and experience the joy of trail running, participants will be able to complete their chosen distance over several runs and taking into account the kilometer-effort. Entry into the UTMB® for the Planet Virtual Races is free, and all participants are invited to donate the amount of their choice when they register to support WWF France. Upon completing a Virtual Race, participants will unlock an exclusive Finisher Badge. Those who choose to support WWF France will receive an exclusive virtual bib. Every runner who completes UTMB® Virtual 50, UTMB® Virtual 100 and UTMB® Virtual 170, will also be entered into a special lottery to gain entry into the corresponding distance at UTMB® Mont-Blanc 2021.
